Who We Are
Mission of Progress Speech & Language Center is to provide quality speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, ABA therapy, and early intervention services to the pediatric population in order to reach each individual’s optimal level of functioning in needed areas via the most recent therapy approaches and passionate care.
We accomplish this by identifying concerns through specialized and comprehensive evaluations and intervention through development of goals to meet the unique needs of each child and family. For bilingual individuals and families, we are specialized in bilingual speech and language evaluation, treatment, and family training.
We can maximize each individual’s potential in his/her development by using evidence-based therapy, family- focused therapy, coaching therapy approach, and customized therapy approaches.
Speech-Language Pathologists
The Speech-Language Pathologists at Progress Speech and Language are licensed and certified by state and national professional boards (American Speech and Hearing Association and California Speech and Hearing Association). Our Speech Language Pathologists are experienced bilingual therapists and have in-depth knowledge in speech/language disorders of bilingual/monolingual children. Our team of therapists provides quality assessment and intervention in order to customize each child’s individual differences and needs. Occupational Therapists
The occupational therapists at Progress Speech and Language are licensed and certified by state and national professional boards, including California Board of Occupational Therapists and National Board of Occupational Therapists. Occupational therapists have in-depth knowledge in child development and activities of daily living, to increase your child’s independence with occupations such as dressing, bathing, and hygiene engagement, through development of fine motor, oral motor, and sensory regulation skills. Our team of therapists provides quality assessment and intervention customized to your child’s individual needs and learning styles. Our compassionate staff is qualified, experienced, and committed to fulfilling the mission of increasing quality of life for our children and their families, at Progress Speech and Language Center.
Physical Therapists
The Physical Therapists at Progress Speech and Language are licensed in the state of California (Physical Therapy Board of California). Our Physical Therapists are experienced in treating pediatric patients, with a variety of neurological, orthopedic, and genetic conditions as well as with developmental delay. Pediatric Physical therapists work to help children reach their maximum potential for functional independence through examination, evaluation, and implementation of a wide variety of interventions including Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) and Sensory Integration (SI). They facilitate gross motor development and promote functional independence. They also work to improve muscle strength, endurance, motor planning, and range of motion, postural control, balance and safety. Our Physical Therapists aim is to help your child to achieve his/her fullest potential. Physical Therapists at Progress Speech and Language have passed the National Licensure Examination and maintain a state license. They must also receive continuing education throughout their careers.
ABA/Early Intervention Team
The ABA/ Early intervention team at Progress Speech and Language consists a team of Interventionists who are overseen by the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Early Intervention supervisor. Our BCBA and our ABA/Early intervention team members are experienced in working with pediatric patients and their family members to manage challenging behaviors and promote skill buildings. Utilizing the evidence based science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and coaching model, in which the principles of the analysis of behavior are applied systematically to improve socially significant behavior and experimentation is used to identify the variables responsible for behavior change. In the coaching model, our therapy team will empower caregivers to provide therapy to their own child as a therapy partner. Our ABA team is here to help your child to conquer the barriers and to help your child to reach his/her fullest potential. Our goal is to improve the overall quality of life for your child and your family. The ABA team is committed fulfilling the mission at Progress Speech and Language Center.
BCBAs
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is trained and certified in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). A BCBA will help you to understand your child’s behavior and work with you to teach and increase more functional appropriate behavior while decreasing occurrences of behavior that is problematic or inappropriate.
